5 Goat Park

Yeah...more goats.   But this time it was a park.  Lots and lots of uphill climbing and steps!  Whew!  In my opinion it wasn't worth it to see the statue of the goats and to be stared at constantly.

I want my goat!

He's adorable sweet, funny and ................
Woooooooooo, buddy!  We went to the mall with our guide and someone handed him a Pleasant Goat DVD in a store and he wanted it.  He wanted it baaaaad!!!   And we might have bought it for him but our guide MingMing gave him one before we left Shanghai.   To say he was a little upset is an understatement.  He did this for about 30 minutes.  He is saying "I want the goat" over and over.   He's only done this twice so far.
I am posting this here so that other families will see it's not all rainbows and sunshine even when you have a happy little one like John John.

In GZ now

We arrived in GZ late yesterday evening and it is so good to be here!  WOOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!  :)  Warmer weather, no smog and familiar turf!  I'm one happy mama!

John had his medical exam today.  He weighed 22 lbs fully clothed including his shoes and after eating a big breakfast.  He did great during all of the exams and didn't cry when he had his TB test.  Such a happy little boy!  We are so blessed!

He loves the cartoons Pleasant Goat and one called Boonie Bears.   We bought him this little gun because it plays the Pleasant Goat theme song.  We may have to lose the batteries for it in the next few days just to give our ears a rest from it!  LOL

He is ours!!

Yesterday we signed all of the official paperwork making John Wesley our son! (Wearing his Gamecocks shirt!)  I just can't put into words how much we love this little guy already.  He knows how to make us laugh!  He is so silly!  When he walks he swings his little arms back and forth. Cutest thing I've ever seen!

You would think we'd be busy, busy here in Shanghai but there doesn't seem to be that much to do. We went to the Bund today and to Yue Gardens.   We were only gone for a couple of hours.

It is smoggy and overcast and very gloomy weather here right now.  Can't wait to see some sunshine again!

Meet our son!

We are absolutely amazed by the blessing we received today!  We went to the civil affairs office and filled out numerous papers and signed our names a dozen times.  Marty went downstairs to pay some fees.  The mom who was waiting with me for her son said, "I hear them!" and at that exact moment John Wesley walked through the door.  I exclaimed, 'That's my boy!"  He was far too busy to be bothered with meeting mama so he checked out everything and everyone in the room before I got to hold him.  He gave me a little piece of candy and said, "Mama!".  A couple of minutes later Marty walked back in the room and I turned toward the door.  John Wesley saw him and reached out his hands and said in the sweetest voice "Baba!".  The look on my husband's face was priceless.  He absolutely melted and has been playing all day with John.
A few things we know about our son.  He has amazing dexterity. He is hungry....constantly. He loves to play ball with daddy.  He talks to us a lot and seems to think we are pretty funny.  He is absolutely as cute as can be and he is far tinier than we had imagined.  The pants he came to us in are size 12 months and they keep falling down and he pulls them back up and keeps right on going.  He has an itty bitty foot.  Probably about a size 4.   I didn't bring any clothes that are going to fit him...atleast not any pants.  I brought some overalls so we are hoping he can wear them until we get to a place where we can buy him a few things.
He is sitting on the bed with his daddy right now repeating words from some Playskool flash cards.  He loves his toy cell phone and his beach ball the most so far.   And we......oh my but we are in love with this little boy!!  We are so blessed!!!
